We are a small museum with a limited number of facilities

Toilets: An accessible toilet is located next to the reception desk.

Shop: A small range of gift items and souvenirs are available from our shop.

Wi-Fi: Free wi-fi is available in the Museum.

Food and Drink: Please note we do not have eating or drinking facilities on site. Visitors can redeem a 10% discount at the Royal Opera House Cafe or Bow Street Tavern using their online booking or physical ticket.

FAQ’s

When booking online, you will receive your admission tickets via an email confirmation using the contact details provided when making your purchase. To gain admission to the Museum you must bring your tickets with you at the time of your visit. You can display them on the screen of a mobile phone or tablet.

As part of our commitment to sustainability we would ask you do not print your tickets. If you cannot access them on a digital device we will be able to find you on our system using the name on the booking.

Yes. Tickets can be purchased on arrival, subject to availability If visiting with a large group we would strongly encourage you book in advance.

Our timed entry system should eliminate the need for queuing. However, depending on the flow of visitors once inside, you may have to wait until others have moved on before entering or exiting some of our spaces.

If you miss you time slot for any reason, we will try to allocate you the next available time slot that day.

Once inside you can enjoy the museum for as long as you like. A typical visit takes approximately 30 – 45 minutes.

We are unable to offer a cloakroom service, and cannot store any bags or items of luggage. Please only bring items you are able to carry with you during your visit.

Unfortunately, there are no dedicated baby changing facilities within the Museum.

If for any reason you are unable to visit the Museum on the date or time specified on your tickets, it may be possible to arrange an exchange for an alternative date or time. However, at busy times alternative tickets may not be available.

If an alternative date or time is not available, Bow Street Police Museum operates a no refund policy for admission tickets.

If have purchased a ‘Local Resident’ ticket, proof of address will be required when you arrive at the Museum. We will accept any of the following as proof of address;

  • Utility company bill (dated within the last three months)
  • Bank statement (dated within the last three months)
  • Correspondence from government or your local authority (dated within the last three months)
  • Driving license

You will receive confirmation of your ‘Friends Membership’, including your unique membership number, via email using the contact details provided at the time of purchase.

When purchasing tickets or other items online, you will be asked to input your unique membership number as proof of valid membership.

To gain admission to the Museum, or redeem any discounts included in your membership during your visit, you must bring your confirmation email with you every time you make a visit. You can print this out, or display the email on the screen of a mobile phone or tablet.

The main entrance to the Museum includes one small step up from street level, and three medium sized steps up into the Museum’s main gallery space.

Step-free access is via the main entrance of the NoMad London Hotel. If you have notified us of your step-free requirements, details of how to enter the hotel and locate our step-free entrance will be included in your booking confirmation.

We ask accredited Tour Guides who would like to arrange a visit to Bow Street Police Museum to contact the Museum in advance.

Bookings are currently only available during our normal opening hours; Friday – Sunday, 11.00 – 16.30 (last admission 16.00).

As a small venue we can accommodate groups of up to 15 people (plus Tour Guides) every 30 minutes, as per our regular admissions.

Tour Guides are welcome to accompany their group, however we request no formal guiding takes place inside the building. For more details, including group admission rates, please contact the Museum Team [email protected]

Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Photography is permitted for personal use only.

No professional audio or video recording can take place at Bow Street Police Museum without prior written agreement.

Admission tickets to the Museum do not grant access to any areas of the NoMad London Hotel.
